Attractions in London

Some of the world’s best museums can be found in London and we are in a great location to visit them all. The British Museum, V&A, Natural History Museum, the Sciences Museum, National Gallery and Tate Modern are just a handful of museums in close proximity to Chiswick Rooms.

Our guests often stay at the Chiswick Rooms when visiting one of our nearby theatres.

Eventim Apollo a Grade II listed building is one of London’s largest live performance venues conveniently just a 7 minute drive or 11 minutes by tube on the District line.

Award winning Lyrics Theatre is a short 5 minute drive or 8 minutes on the tube.

Royal Albert Hall is on the on the northern edge of South Kensington so 20 minutes by car or 30 by tube.

Olympia Exhibition Centre is located in West Kensington, just 12 minutes by car or 19 minutes by tube. The venue is home to a range of international trade and consumer exhibitions, conferences and events. Many visitors stay with us due to our great prices and convenient location.

Buckingham Palace is the London residence and headquarters of the reigning monarch Queen Elizabeth II. The palace is a great London attraction that is open to the public between 22nd July to the 1st October.  You can take a stroll around the impressive State Rooms and watch the changing of the guard. Chiswick Rooms is 5 miles from the Palace which is half an hour on the District Line.

The Houses of Parliament are a popular tourist attraction. The Houses of Parliament contain a thousand years of history, modern day politics and stunning art and architecture. Many visitors from overseas like to tour the House of Parliament and watch debates and committees.

To visit Parliament from Chiswick Rooms is 30 minutes on the tube. You take the District line from Stamford Brook Station.

One of the best ways to see a lot of London is from the London Eye.  The giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the river Thames stands at 135 metres, and offers amazing views of the city. This modern London attraction is the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel.

Chiswick Rooms is not that far away, just 35 minutes on the District line.

Westfield is a popular shopping centre which is in close proximity to Chiswick Rooms.  Just 6 minutes by car, or 21 minutes by tube.  You can even hop on bus No. 237 or 94 which will take you to the Westfields Shopping centre in around 20minutes.

Shopping fanatics will love the mix of high street and designer stores.

Piccadilly Circus is a road junction and public space of London’s West End in the City of Westminster. It was built in 1819 to connect Regent Street with Piccadilly.

Today Piccadilly Circus has dazzling billboards and is a magnet for tourists. You can reach the area in 30 minutes by tube.

Wimbledon is the home of tennis where as well as the famous tennis courts, you can visit numerous boutique stores restaurants and cafes.

It takes 28 minutes by car, or 50 minutes by tube as it is about 8 miles from Chiswick Rooms.

Oxford Street is a major road in the City of Westminster in the West End of London which runs from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road via Oxford Circus.

Oxford Street is Europe’s favourite shopping area. With more than 300 shops and restaurants in the area it’s another favourite with tourists and shoppers.

Hyde Park in London covers 350 acres of green space. It is home to a number of famous landmarks including the Serpentine Lake, Speakers’ Corner and the Diana and the Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain. There are recreational activities throughout the year.

Kensington Palace is just 4 miles away from Chiswick Rooms. Either 20 minutes by car, or 35 by tube. The former home of the late Princess Diana.

Another top London attraction where the State Rooms are open to the public. It is also the official London residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

A trip to London is not complete without a trip to Harrods. The luxury department store located on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge.

Harrods is just 4 miles from Chiswick Rooms. You can get there in 19 minutes by car or 27 minutes by tube.

Kew Gardens is a botanical garden in southwest London that houses the largest living plant collection in the world. Gardeners from all around the world visit the gardens to see the most diverse botanical and mycological collections of plants in the world

In close proximity to Chiswick Rooms, Kew Gardens is 14 minutes by car, or 22 minutes on the tube.

Chiswick House and Gardens is a 65 acre Grade I listed house and gardens build in the 1720s.

The Chiswick House and Gardens have been through a major refurb and have added a picnic and play area which is enjoyed by many.

Syon House is one of London’s great houses. It has a 200 acre park and is located in West London. The house holds a wealth of art within its grand classical interiors, while strolling around the Park and Gardens it feels like you’re in the countryside not London.

Those wishing to take a tour of this great house will find it just 20 minutes by car or 30 minutes by tube from our hotel.

Twickenham Stadium is the proud home of England Rugby. Many visitors to the famous stadium often stay with us as its a 40 minutes ride to the stadium or 21 minutes by car.

Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster is a must see top London attraction that many of our guests want to visit. Nelsons’ Column is a monument to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson who died in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805
